Chip Crunk, the company’s President and CEO, has worked at RJ Young since he was fourteen years old. In his own words, working for RJ Young is “the only life I’ve ever known.” In 1987, Chip became a sales representative after graduating from the University of Mississippi. He became Director of Sales in 1989, then Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. In 1995 Chip was named President and CEO of the company. Guided by an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, Chip has led the RJ Young Company to see double-digit annual growth, now ranking among the top independent dealers in the United States. He oversees an operation that covers five states including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee and employs more than 350 people in 17 locations.
Chip Crunk is currently a member of the Ricoh Executive Steering Committee, the Canon Dealer Council and the Copier Dealers Association. He is active in community and civic organizations and enjoys flying, boating, golf, and the Tennessee Titans. Chip and his wife Gina reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children.

Hunter McCarty, Chief Operating Officer of RJ Young, joined the company in 1978. After several years as a sales representative, he managed both sales teams and sales managers over the next twenty-four years. Hunter has held the positions of VP of Sales and VP of Marketing during his tenure with the company, playing a major role in the unprecedented growth that has led the RJ Young Company to become the largest independent office equipment dealer in the Southeast and one of the largest in the nation. Hunter is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and has served as both a member and president of the Board of Sales and Marketing Executives. Additionally, Hunter is a member of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Existing Member Committee. He is currently the VP of Programs for the Brentwood Rotary Club. In his free time Hunter enjoys traveling, golf and Titans football. He and his wife, Carol Lynn, reside in Franklin, TN, and have three grown children.

Sam Shallenberger serves as Chief Financial Officer for RJ Young. Sam joined the company in 2006 and leads the accounting, information systems, equipment purchasing, payroll, and leasing functions. An MBA graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University, Sam is a CDIA+ Document Imaging Architect and led engineering and treasury systems during his eight years at Gibson Guitar. Prior to joining RJ Young he served as CFO for two technical systems integrators. Sam enjoys electronics, guitar playing, and reading. He and his wife, Patricia, reside in Mount Juliet, TN and have two children.

Steve Huff is Vice President of Service for RJ Young. After joining the company in 1981 as Assistant to the President, John Crunk, Steve rose within the organization to his current position in just four years. Steve earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lipscomb University and is an MBA graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Prior to his employment at the RJ Young Company he had business experience at Bell South and IBM. Within the industry, Steve is known nationwide for the excellent service programs he oversees. He has hosted Copier Dealers Association service management meetings and is often contacted to make presentations to industry groups. A member of the Nashville Downtown Rotary Club, Steve is very active in the community. He has coached numerous youth baseball, softball and basketball teams and is a self-proclaimed sports fanatic. Steve and his wife Lisa reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children.

Ralph Mello serves as General Counsel of RJ Young. Ralph has a broad range of business and legal experience and has been actively involved in the structuring of RJ Young’s acquisitions over the past 5 years. After operating private practice in Nashville for 16 years during which time he represented many businesses including RJ Young, Ralph joined the company in 2007. Prior to attending and graduating from law school Ralph was a commercial real estate broker in Nashville. In addition to being actively involved in the company’s acquisitions, Ralph oversees the human relations department, handles the company’s contract and litigation needs and provides business and legal counsel to other members of management. Ralph and his wife Linda reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children in college.
