President and CEO
Chip Crunk, the company’s President and CEO, has worked at RJ Young since he was fourteen years old. In his own words, working for RJ Young is “the only life I’ve ever known.” In 1987, Chip became a Sales Representative after graduating from the University of Mississippi. He became Director of Sales in 1989, then Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. In 1995 Chip was named President and CEO of the company. Guided by an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, Chip has led RJ Young to see double-digit annual growth, now ranking among the top independent dealers in the United States. He oversees an operation that covers eight states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, and employs more than 600 people in 27 locations.
Chip Crunk is currently a member of the Ricoh Executive Steering Committee, the Canon Dealer Council, and the Copier Dealers Association. Chip also serves as the President of the School of Business Board for Ole Miss. He is active in community and civic organizations and enjoys flying, boating, golfing, and the Tennessee Titans. Chip and his wife Gina reside in Brentwood, TN, and have two children.
Executive Vice President
Hunter McCarty, Executive Vice President of RJ Young, joined the company in 1978. After several years as a Sales Representative, he managed both sales teams and sales managers over the next twenty-four years. Hunter has held the positions of VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, and Chief Operating Officer during his tenure with the company, playing a major role in the unprecedented growth that has led RJ Young to become one of the largest independent office equipment dealers in the Southeast and in the top five in the nation. Hunter is a graduate of Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and has served on the Alumni Board in the past. Additionally, Hunter is a member of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Community Services Committee for the Brentwood Rotary Club along with being the Treasurer of Advent Episcopal Church. Hunter is also on both the Printfleet and the Lexmark Advisory Boards. In his free time, Hunter enjoys traveling, golfing, and Tennessee Titans football. He and his wife, Carol Lynn, reside in Franklin, TN, and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Chief Operating Officer
AJ Baggott serves as Chief Operating Officer for RJ Young. Joining the team in 2016, AJ previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for RJ Young before being named COO. AJ is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Lipscomb University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, served as a board member and treasurer for Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee and is a Young Leaders Council graduate. Prior to joining RJ Young, AJ held senior positions with Diversicare Healthcare Services Inc. and Deloitte. He and his wife, Miranda, reside in Hendersonville with their children, Aiden and Brady.
Vice President of Service
Steve Huff is Vice President of Service for RJ Young. After joining the company in 1981 as Assistant to the President, John Crunk, Steve rose within the organization to his current position in just four years. Steve earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lipscomb University and is an MBA graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Prior to his employment at RJ Young he had business experience at Bell South and IBM. Within the industry, Steve is known nationwide for the excellent service programs he has overseen. He has hosted Copier Dealers Association service management meetings and is often contacted to make presentations to industry groups. A member of the Nashville Downtown Rotary Club, Steve is very active in the community. He has coached numerous youth baseball, softball and basketball teams and is a self-proclaimed sports fanatic. Steve and his wife Lisa reside in Brentwood, TN, and have two grown children.
Atty. – General Counsel
Ralph Mello serves as General Counsel of RJ Young. Ralph has a broad range of business and legal experience and has been actively involved in the structuring of RJ Young’s acquisitions. After operating a private practice in Nashville for 16 years during which time he represented many businesses, including RJ Young, Ralph joined the company in 2007. Prior to attending and graduating from law school Ralph was a commercial real estate broker in Nashville. In addition to being actively involved in the company’s acquisitions, Ralph handles the company’s contract and litigation needs and provides business and legal counsel to other members of management. Ralph and his wife Linda reside in Brentwood, TN.
Vice President of Sales
Mike is RJ Young’s Vice President of Sales. Mike is responsible for all office equipment sales as well as the company’s High Volume/Production Print, and Wide Format divisions. He joined RJ Young in 2003 as a Sales Representative for the Digital Printing Services division and was promoted to management first in 2004. In 2005 Mike moved to the Nashville Ricoh team. He then moved to Memphis in 2007 to act as Sales Manager for the Memphis branch. In 2012 he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager and relocated back in Nashville. In 2015 Mike was promoted to Regional Director of Sales – East and added to the executive leadership team. In 2016 Mike was promoted to VP of Sales for the entire company. In 2010 Mike was awarded the John T. Crunk Leadership award, the company’s highest honor. In his spare time, Mike enjoys Kentucky Wildcats basketball and is an avid mountain biker. A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Mike attended Murray State University and resides in Hendersonville with his wife and two children.
Chief Technology Officer
Joey Lush serves as RJ Young’s Chief Technology Officer. Joey is responsible for all strategic technology planning, direction of the company’s technology infrastructure including data security, databases, servers, telecommunications, and support for more than six hundred users. He joined RJ Young in 2003 as a network admin and was promoted to IT Manager that same year. He was promoted to IT Director in 2009, promoted to the executive leadership team in 2015 and promoted again to CTO in 2017.
Throughout his tenure at RJ Young, Joey has overseen the development, implementation, and optimization of an innovative, industry-leading business workflow platform, which he is currently overhauling for wider release. Joey enjoys golf, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats and Miami Dolphins. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and resides in Murfreesboro with his wife and their six children.
Matt Baker, Service Director for RJ Young, joined the family back in 1998 as a Field Engineer. As he continued his career at RJ Young, he held various positions throughout his tenure such as Network Connect Technician, Color Specialist, and a variety of Service Management positions. Baker is currently a member of Ricoh’s Greenline Service Council, prior to joining RJ Young Matt served in the US Army – his assignment to Fort Campbell is what landed him in middle Tennessee. During his free time, Baker enjoys spending time with family, walking his dog, watching sports, and traveling. Matt Baker and his wife live in Portland, TN and have one daughter.
Director of Operations
Jason Bordwine, Director of Operations for RJ Young, began his career in the imaging industry in Bristol, VA in 2002. Prior to joining the RJ Young family, Bordwine worked in accounting positions and executive roles at Bristol Office Supply Inc, which was acquired by RJ Young in 2017. In addition to serving as Director of Operations, Bordwine has served as the General Manager of RJ Young’s Eastern branches, Sales Administration Manager, and the Senior Operations Manager. In his free time, Bordwine enjoys whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, camping, and fly fishing with his two sons.
