President and CEO
Chip Crunk, the company’s President and CEO, has worked at RJ Young since he was fourteen years old. In his own words, working for RJ Young is “the only life I’ve ever known.” In 1987, Chip became a Sales Representative after graduating from the University of Mississippi. He became Director of Sales in 1989, then Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. In 1995 Chip was named President and CEO of the company. Guided by an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, Chip has led RJ Young to see double-digit annual growth, now ranking among the top independent dealers in the United States. He oversees an operation that covers seven states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee and employs more than 500 people in 21 locations.
Chip Crunk is currently a member of the Ricoh Executive Steering Committee, the Canon Dealer Council and the Copier Dealers Association. He is active in community and civic organizations and enjoys flying, boating, golf, and the Tennessee Titans. Chip and his wife Gina reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children.
Hunter McCarty, Chief Operating Officer of RJ Young, joined the company in 1978. After several years as a Sales Representative, he managed both sales teams and sales managers over the next twenty-four years. Hunter has held the positions of VP of Sales and VP of Marketing during his tenure with the company, playing a major role in the unprecedented growth that has led RJ Young to become one of the largest independent office equipment dealer in the Southeast and in the top five in the nation. Hunter is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and has served as both a member and president of the Board of Sales and Marketing Executives. Additionally, Hunter is a member of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Business Conditions Council. McCarty serves as Chairman of the Community Services Committee for the Brentwood Rotary Club along with being the Senior Warden of Advent Episcopal Church. Hunter is also a board member of the Copier Dealer Association, on the Printfleet Advisory Board, and on the Lexmark Advisory Board. In his free time Hunter enjoys traveling, golf and Tennessee Titans football. He and his wife, Carol Lynn, reside in Franklin, TN, and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Vice President of Service
Steve Huff is Vice President of Service for RJ Young. After joining the company in 1981 as Assistant to the President, John Crunk, Steve rose within the organization to his current position in just four years. Steve earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lipscomb University and is an MBA graduate of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Prior to his employment at RJ Young he had business experience at Bell South and IBM. Within the industry, Steve is known nationwide for the excellent service programs he oversees. He has hosted Copier Dealers Association service management meetings and is often contacted to make presentations to industry groups. A member of the Nashville Downtown Rotary Club, Steve is very active in the community. He has coached numerous youth baseball, softball and basketball teams and is a self-proclaimed sports fanatic. Steve and his wife Lisa reside in Brentwood, TN and have two children.
Atty. – General Counsel
Ralph Mello serves as General Counsel of RJ Young. Ralph has a broad range of business and legal experience and has been actively involved in the structuring of RJ Young’s acquisitions. After operating a private practice in Nashville for 16 years during which time he represented many businesses, including RJ Young, Ralph joined the company in 2007. Prior to attending and graduating from law school Ralph was a commercial real estate broker in Nashville. In addition to being actively involved in the company’s acquisitions, Ralph oversees the Human Resources department, handles the company’s contract and litigation needs and provides business and legal counsel to other members of management. Ralph and his wife Linda reside in Brentwood, TN.
Chief Financial Officer
AJ Baggott, serves as Chief Financial Officer for RJ Young. Joining the team in 2016. Baggott is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Lipscomb University and is a certified public accountant. He is a member of Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, served as a board member and treasurer for Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee and is a Young Leaders Council graduate. Prior to joining RJ Young, Baggott held senior positions with Diversicare Healthcare Services Inc. and Deloitte. He and his wife, Miranda, reside in Hendersonville with their children, Aiden and Brady.
Vice President of Sales
Mike is RJ Young’s Vice President of Sales. Mike is responsible for all office equipment sales as well as the company’s Managed IT Services, Software Solutions, High Volume/Production Print and Managed Print Services divisions. He joined RJ Young in 2003 as a Sales Representative for the Digital Printing Services division and was promoted to management first in 2004. In 2005 Mike moved to the Nashville Ricoh team. He then moved to Memphis in 2007 to act as Sales Manager for the Memphis branch. In 2012 he was promoted to Regional Sales Manager and relocated back in Nashville. In 2015 Mike was promoted to Regional Director of Sales – East and added to the executive leadership team. In 2016 Mike was promoted to VP of Sales for the entire company. In 2010 Mike was awarded the John T. Crunk Leadership award, the company’s highest honor. In his spare time, Mike enjoys Kentucky Wildcats basketball and is an avid mountain biker. A native of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Mike attended Murray State University and resides in Hendersonville with his wife and two children.
Chief Technology Officer
Joey Lush serves as RJ Young’s Vice President of Information Technology. Joey is responsible for all strategic technology planning, direction of the company’s technology infrastructure including data security, databases, servers, telecommunications and support for more than five hundred users. He joined RJ Young in 2003 as a network admin and was promoted to IT Manager that same year. He was promoted to IT Director in 2009, promoted to the executive leadership team in 2015 and promoted again to VP of IT in 2017. Joey enjoys golf, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats and Miami Dolphins. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and resides in Murfreesboro with his wife and their six children.
Director of Operations
Bill serves as RJ Young’s Director of Operations. Bill oversees warehouse operations, deliveries, purchasing of inventory, processing of equipment orders and all office and building facilities. He joined the company in 2009 as a sales representative, through RJ Young’s acquisition of Photocopy, where Bill was a partner. He held management positions in sales and in service until he was promoted to Director of Operations in 2014. A native of Nashville, Bill served in the United States Marines. He attended Kennesaw Junior College while serving our country and then graduated from the University of Tennessee in Nashville. Bill resides in Nashville with his wife of 38 years Cindy. They have one daughter, one son and two grandchildren. When not enjoying his family, Bill enjoys fishing, boating and relaxing at Center Hill Lake.
